Write-up Challenge!
9 writers, 6 weekly sessions
The Write-Up Challenge 2025 has completed for this year. Plans are being laid for a new Write-Up Challenge cohort in 2026 .
Check info and a few testimonials from this year’s wonderful cohort and work below!
Working on a project and struggling to move from sketches, research & development to actual writing?
There’s nothing like regular, committed practice in a small dedicated group to get going and keep going!
Don’t go it solo!
Join us: You get 6 weeks & we’re doing it together!
Who is this for?
This challenge will benefit writers, interdisciplinary artists, and art practitioners from various fields and forms who are about to engage in a project's writing up and content development.
The challenge is kept to just nine artists/writers to secure enough time and space for a dedicated and focused studio atmosphere.
The challenge takes place in our Online Writing Studio if you feel ready and excited to get to work on your project, are open to sharing and exchanging with others, and are welcoming of generous critical thinking!
Prior experience completing a project is advisable as well as an interest in various art forms, and ways of working.
We strongly welcome practitioners who work and write across artforms, fields, identities, cultures and languages.
Please note: English is the studio’s working language but not necessarily the only language at work.

How it works
1
Individual Work
In between our sessions, you commit to working on your project. Time management, plan of action, and various forms of accountability within the group keep you on track and help you keep going.
Each of you will also be offered a one-on-one hour-long tutorial with Caroline as part of the course.
2
Main Group Dialogue
This is our weekly conversation in the round. A time for checking in as a group, engaging with discoveries and dilemmas large and small. The session is live and recorded so don’t worry if you miss one, you can always go back to it.
Caroline offers brief weekly micro-talks as exploratory teasings created from your queries to replenish your motivation.
3
Ongoing Support and Exchange
In between sessions, you make use of our private WhatsApp group to check-in informally, share dilemmas, and encourage one another. Throughout our time together, a unique work platform allows you to share excerpts and pieces in progress. Feel free to comment, encourage, share ideas.
4
Actionable feedback
During our weekly session, you get to meet in small groups with a max of 3 to go through more detailed aspects of the past week's work, ideas shared and your overall progress.
There will be a brief informal moment of presentation by each participant to the whole group so you get to know the various projects in the group and can better support these.
