Testimonials

Hi! I’m Caroline Bergvall,

My work as an art practice mentor and creative coach is specifically focused on supporting artists and writers, who are undertaking a project, seeking new developments to their practice, or who wish to deepen the impact and significance of their creative potential.

I set up the Arts Lab in 2021  to support arts practitioners of all kinds. Due to continued need and demand I place much of my commitment and emphasis on individual mentoring & coaching, notably mid-career writers, artists and curators. In the Summer I run a longer, conversational and project-related Summer workshop.

As an international arts practitioner and writer,  and with I bring the knowledge, flexibility and experience acquired from many years developing projects and books in many contexts to my workshops and project-led mentoring. I also bring over 25 years of experience teaching writing and art practices in universities and art colleges across the world, where I have been responsible for projects, research supervision and writing and interdisciplinary courses.

Reduce isolation. Increase connection. The world is experiencing profound and challenging changes, making it difficult to trust in the value and impact of creative work. Yet, art is essential. It exists in the present, shapes both small moments and grand visions, nurtures adaptability, fosters courage, and strengthens resilience. Solitary in this context means: build up your own sense of purpose, train up your skills base, get at what excites you. And do so with a mind to a shared future, a shared world, to fight for and work in solidarity with. This dual and complementary focus underpins the methods I have developed to mentor and coach practitioners like you.
